Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor is best known for his part in the television show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started when he was in college. He was a student of acting at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films and in television shows, it is the characters portrayed on small screens that have given him popularity. There is no doubt that he has been able grab the attention of viewers by playing characters who are on either side of the legal system. In his first TV series, he played the part of a murderer. Later, he was able to take on the role of an NYPD Detective. He has been nominated multiple times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen appearances. One of his most distinctive facial traits is believed to have been the piercing blue eyes which have allowed him to portray characters who appear rough and fascinating. People's magazine's 2006 list for Sexiest Men Alive included him.
